I have this set, bought elsewhere. It's decent for the money. The steak knives are cheap, but the larger knives are of better quality and the block is nice. I have only had to occasionally sharpen them. I only hand wash and there's been a bit of rust but that was expected. I'll probably spend more for a complete forged set in the future.

Rodmunch The $50 Cuisinart all-metal set that we had rusted and pitted too. The reasonably priced 6-pc set by Mercer (w/o steak knives) has incurred no damage after two years of daily use and hand washing/dry. I touch up the edges with a sharpening steel. If you don't want to replace knives, then spend ~$20/knife and just get Winco steak knives. c.f. $10.86/ Dozen: https://www.restaurantsupply.com/winco-kb-15w-5-jumbo-stainless-steel-steak-knife-with-wood-handle-12-pack [EDIT] Apparently all the restaurant supply stores want $12 to $60 in shipping, so as much as I have hated on Walmart... https://www.walmart.com/ip/Winco-Jumbo-5-Steak-Knife/51288877 - $14 via McDonald Paper & Restaurant Supplies
