Curious if anyone else from Australia has received theirs. According to my tracking information it's been in the country since the 18th yet no word of even attempted delivery and no information on Auspost tracking.
Starting to get wary that it may have been taken by customs in which case I'm going to be very annoyed, after being reassured by massdrop customer support that it would be fine.
JamesonyStill no luck here. No new tracking events on DHL (last was "Arrived in destination country" on 18/10/16) and no tracking events in Auspost. In fact I received another drop from massdrop (some keycaps) which was shipped after the knife so I dunno what's going on.
If it doesn't come next week I think I need to start chasing up people or I'm out the better part of $50
SegoliaGuys ,,, Seriously ?! Not wanting to be negative here but Balisongs are verboten in Australia ....customs WILL confiscate them.
Even Balicombs and bottleopeners will be taken - as they could be modified blabla.bla.
Now we have reasonable laws regarding one handers and flippers why would you even try n import a shite fantasy knife ? Its not worth having your name written recorded and future imports checked etcetc.
Its on you guys to import stuff that isnt verboten.
Hell - join AUs blade forum to confirm your stuff wont get you in strife ( and maybe steer you towards a decent product )
AntibacterialI didn't think trainers were illegal to own, at least not in Queensland (I have actually legally imported one from China before, although there's the possibility that it slipped through the cracks). Obviously provided you don't sharpen them or take them in public.
Furthermore, not being extensively knowledgeable on knife laws I did actually contact Massdrop customer support regarding the drop who assured me that they had spoken with the manufacturer and only offer shipping where they know it is legal to do so - I like to think Massdrop is a reasonably reputable company that would not outright lie to me so I bit the bullet. Seems I may have been wrong to assume that.
As an aside - not that I've ever had anything intercepted by customs before but don't they normally send you a slip in the mail or some kind of indication that they've actually intercepted your goods?
And for the product I mean I didn't even really want it to flip - I honestly just wanted a display piece so an inexpensive knife that looks the part works fine by me.
SegoliaI don't know sorry .... Ive never had anything confiscated ....Im too stingy to risk losing my investment.
They have opened up some knives in the past . Always folders. The larger swiss knives like the GAK . I guess through the x ray machine it sort of looks like a verboten gravity knife.
Theres usually red texta markings on the outside. And a slip saying its been opened by customs.
Actually they open pen or 2AA torch lights too ....guess they gotta make sure theyre not lasers.
Feel free to join for any blade advice.
Heres the sub forum concerning imports etc ....maybe you'll find answers here.

JarrodByteI haven't gotten a notice but I figure mine must have been seized. Ended up contacting massdrop support who just refunded my order and declared it lost in post.
Not great but hey
SegoliaI just got a refund as well thanks to Massdrop's awesome support. No seizure notice came to my mailbox, though.
I wonder if this happened to all other AU shipments...
