Does anyone have any selling points for me to consider in making the decision between iem's using a dynamic driver (Cardas EM5813 IEM) vs these (CL C6 IEM) having 3 balanced armatures per earpiece ? My worry is that there are more parts that can break in a multiple transducer iem vs a single. I think that if I were to buy a balanced armature iem it would be these. They are just so damn sexy and (based on the Headfonia review) are hopefully not likely to be sibilant/strident while not sacrificing detail.
Re: Cardas, I had both fit issues and cable problems with mine. They may have replaced the heavy cable with latest version of the EM5813, but they are shaped the same, I returned my pair. Sound was good, dark, but good, if you don't mind a darker, non neutral, tone to your music.
Just the opposite experience with my EM5813. Love the vintage sound tuning in them and it sounds sublime with my Meridian 2. Cable is the same. I must say that I'm biased towards dynamics, but these CLC 6iem sure looks sexy, and that $399.99 is tempting just to try out.
Now, MD just needs to get the Ditas on here with similar discount level.
Thanks for the reply alphaphoenix and Carlson! Ditto on the Ditas! I have been enjoying the CL Picollo mated to the Meridian Explorer v1. It's oh so musical. That is also why I am considering the CLC 6iem as I would imagine the pairing would be synergistic.
