Hi. I’m considering getting one of these straps for my Omega Speedmaster Professional. Which color would you suggest to mimic the look in the picture below? Also, Would you suggest silver or black buckles? I was leaning more towards silver. Thank you.

Brown Chromexcel with matte silver hardware. The natural will age to look darker over time but that does take a little time so the brown will give you that rich brown look instantly.

Awesome. Thank you so much for the help and fast reply. ☺️
I got 2 straps one with a keeper and a one piece. They fit perfect and took my Glycine Combat 6 and my cheep Invicta Speedway to

the next level. The strap with a keeper is a bit bigger but fits me fine I'm on the 5th hole, right in the middle
As much as I love the thee straps purchased, they are way too long for my 7.25" wrist. I am on the next to last hole and it is loose. Plus, to wrap it over the last keeper and back brings the end to the buckle...I'd like to return these for a credit unless I am doing something wrong here.
Gotta say, I'm really impressed with this strap. It feels down right luxurious, crazy supple. I got the 26mm to go on a Bertucci A4T, perfect fit. I am a bit concerned about how stretchy it seems as some other folks have mentioned, and it seems to be a bit thinner than I expected. I feel like it's not really meant for any sort of "hard" wear or abuse. But it looks like Da Luca is very responsive and willing to send replacements if there are issues, so I find that very reassuring. All in all, I really like the strap and look forward to seeing how it ages and holds up. I went with the natural hoping to develop a nice patina. Also, props on the shipping speed! I'm blown away how quickly I got mine after the drop ended.

I think it will hold up okay. I got two of them this time and they are just like other CXL I have from DaLuca - they are deceivingly strong for how thin and comfortable they are!
Lol nice straps but I can buy just as nice on eBay for 13.99 shipped. I have purchased a couple at that price
Bigerd
So you have a DaLuca strap to compare your eBay special to? I have just ONE of those eBay specials and they don't even come close to the quality, appearance, and feel of these fine straps, of which I have several.....
LSNadon
We wanted to let you know that we are offering black cxl leather on this drop, in case you wanted to try one. This is the first time we have offered this color on MD.
What is the watch in the wrist pic?

I love this strap! Man, I should of bought two (or more!)

With that wrist size you should be good to go with either style.
DA-LUCA
Thank you, I ordered one of each. I think I'll like them both. Imo other vendors could learn from you in how to engage their customers. 👍👍
Here I was settling in for a wait, since the expected ship date was at the end of September. But today I received an email stating that it's being delivered by Friday! Not complaining, but I am really impressed. Also a bit grateful that I don't have to wait a month.

We hope you enjoy your new handmade DA LUCA strap!
that wrist check shot tho........ :-/
Add a black option and I'm all over it! Been looking to replace a strap on one of my watches for a while...

Thank you for the feedback. We might add this color into the mix for future Chromexcel drops. We do offer a shell cordovan drop in this strap format that includes black. We would recommend taking a look out for that in the future.
wooden
We listened and added black this time around, enjoy!
Awesome price! Question... What is the difference between the Chromexcel and Shell Cordovan? Is one softer than the other? Of the two which stretches more? Thanks, look forward to your response.
Mac11
CXL is cowhide, shell cordovan is a membrane found between the epidermis and underlying flesh of a horse's rump. They feel actually sort of similar, but CXL will stretch and show wear much more than shell. CXL will be softer. Shell is the most durable leather in the world. Both will patina wonderfully.

Thank you for the detailed response. Both leathers are amazing. Lots of our customers have multiple straps made from both leather types. We recommend trying one or a few at this price.
what is the difference with these 3 £ leather nato straps: https://www.cousinsuk.com/product/nato-style-leather ? I have one of them and Very happy with it.

The quality of the leather. Those are likely genuine or bonded leather, which are lesser grades than these which are full-grain. https://joojoobs.com/leather-grades/
@DA-LUCA not related to this drop.. why bourbon color expensive compared to other shell cordovan colors?
Rubiya
We are only able to get a piece or two here or there and they are generally only larger, more expensive pieces. We hope this helps.
DA-LUCA
Yes, it does.. thank you..
Is anyone else finding that these stretch like crazy? I like the softness of the leather, but it feels like a piece of gum. I'm not super hard on watches, but daily use seems like it would eventually stretch these out. Is it just me?
mullytron
The problem with leather NATOs and ZULUs is that, to fit between the springbars and the watch case, the leather needs to be thinned ("skived") to 2 mm or so in thickness. This means it's going to be more stretchy. You can work with leather a little thicker if you don't install it on the watch by pushing it through the slot, but rather by placing it on the watch case in position with springbars removed and forcing the springbars into place (you're not going to want to use these springbars again, since they'll likely be bent). This thickness limitation is a core problem with the whole concept of using leather with NATOs. It's kind of a dumb idea to begin with. But some people like the look. Update: I have changed my mind and come around to these (although they do stretch a bit, the round holes become slightly oval, but it's not like the strap feels like elastic on your wrist).
Cloaca
This is not entirely true as watch design varies by model. The distance between the springbar and the main part of the case is narrower in some instances and wider in others.
Without knowledge of what will work in a particular watch, this purchase the can be a gamble.
Also, some types of leather and some types of processing leather yield different results - example is kangaroo leather is very resistant than other types to stretching. It will still stretch nonetheless.
Knowledge of what you are buying is always important. Before you buy or choose not to buy, do some due diligent research first before acting on the comment of one person.
This is an amazing quality strap. I have about a 7.25" wrist. This is the 22mm one piece. I would highly recommend these straps. Very comfortable leather with great hardware.

Looks superb!

That does look really nice!
I have to ask what the map-cloth is. It looks neat. :)

Pic is next to standard Blushark Nato.
Would love this strap if not made for 7" - 9.5" wrists. It is way too long. My wrist is 7.25" and in second to last adjustment hole. If it stretches at all it will be useless to me.
Too be fair strap is really good looking and comfortable. Feels like very good value for money, but it is way too big for a standard strap.
BBJones
We would recommend ordering the 1 piece version as that is shorter but it does not have the second, shorter layer of leather on the underside, which would be the only other difference.
DA-LUCA
I would recommend you not make straps that long.
so many pics of the skx007 ithink
My wrist size is a little under 7” and I’m using the fifth hole which is right in the center. I purchased the one-piece brown in 22mm and 20mm. Here is a pic of the 22mm. I’m very satisfied with the feel and quality of this strap. The stitching is perfectly straight as well and the length is perfect to how I want it. This strap feels like it’s worth more than the price I paid.

I got this strap the last time it dropped, and it seems pretty decent. My only complaint is that it seems like it's made for someone with giant wrists. This is the only strap I own that I have to wear on it's tightest setting, and as it ages even that is becoming too loose. In the picture you can see that this strap's tightest setting is closer to the middle and looser settings on other straps. Also the stitching is slightly crooked and not very even, but I'm not sure if that's the aesthetic they're going for so I don't know whether that's a defect or a feature.

I understand how to wear a nato strap, you can clearly see where the extra has been tucked in the picture. That's not the issue
IanEDC
We forgot to mention that we can also punch more holes, closer to your watch beyond cutting the length down, which should give you a close fit to the other straps in the picture. Just let us know if you want to go ahead with this as we would be more than happy to help, if so.

I received my leather straps three weeks ago. I went with the brown in 20mm and 22mm. Both my straps are high quality and just the right amount of thickness. If it were any thicker, it would not fit my watches. I am barely able to fit it in my Speedmaster, Aqua Terra and Squale just to name a few, but they are too thick for my Bremont MB II. The straps definitely met or exceeded my expectations and will order the lighter colored on this current drop. In my opinion, the thickness is just right, not too thick and not too thin.
CeeBass
Thank you for the feedback and orders. It is great to hear that you enjoy using our straps.
Looks interesting, but the reviews make it hard to commit.
JCruk
These are a very simple product, 100% made by hand with leather sourced from one of the best tanneries in the world. We make them as thick as we can, which cant be super thick. So by nature the leather has to be on the thinner side, so it can fit through the lug gap on each watch. If there is ever a major issue such as the leather stretching too much, then we can and will always swap it out for a new, non-stretchy one. Our email is Info@DaLucaStraps.com and we can be reached by that. We hope this helps and will be here in case you need anything else at all.
Received my straps today, the quality is ok I guess, definitely not blown away. The finishing could be better, it's flimsy, looks and feels cheap. I hope it gets better as it ages, but for now I definitely cannot recommend this drop.

First of all, thank you for replying to my comment, it shows your commitment in putting your customer first. My complaint is less about the leather quality and more about the craftsmanship. I understand that you made the strap by hand, but you could at least try to make the stitching a straight line.

Another gripe I have with the strap is that the width is not uniform through out the strap, it fits perfectly in one lug (20mm) while in the other lug it exposes a little bit of the spring bar (19mm).

lukinid
Sometimes the slight stretch of the leather causes the bottom portion to stretch which makes the lower part slightly less wide than the cut width (we use a precise die to cut these out). If this is a major issue you can always email us and we will swap it out for you. We stand by our work and do everything in our power to help make you 100% satisfied with the product. Mine is like a cheap rubber band. Mass drop is giving me crap and doesn’t want to offer a return, exchange or refund. Any suggestion?

It should have been responded to within 24 hours. If not, send us another email and we will help you out today.
Just got my strap the quality feels pretty good and it looks great! but I do have one concern. My strap has a weak spot of that makes sense as shown in the pics I have included.
Overall a great strap (although don't take my word as this is my first third party strap) but Just have this one concerning spot.

Well, that's pretty awesome of you guys. Always love seeing great vendors.

We do our best to create quality products as well as back them in case there are any issues. Let us know how we can help and we will do our best.
Is the leather thinner for the 'NATO' style strap as opposed to the 'ZULU' style one?
Lucio
They both use the same exact leather. If we have variations in thickness we tend to use the thicker hides for 24mm and 26mm wide straps while the thinner leather is used for 18-22mm widths.
What's the difference between the keeper and no keeper model?
Plainsmith
Keeper is longer and has the back flap like a “NATO” style strap and the non keeper version would be similar to a Zulu style strap.
Do the 18mm leather Zulu straps have hardware that fits the smaller width strap or do they use the same size rings as the wider watch straps? I have watches ranging from 18-22mm lug widths but questioning if 18 will look good or have hardware that is a little large in proportion.
Burbinghard
Each width has hardware that corresponds to that width. (ex: 18mm hardware only for the 18mm widths)
Looking to get this strap for a Victorinox Infantry GMT I don't know the size as it says 23mm on some pages and 22mm on others any suggestions?

Thanks! Any suggestions on the color I am more leaning toward the brown but the natural would eventually get darker (due to wear and patina)?
KuuFA
Both would look wonderful. The natural will darken to look very close to the brown over time. You could always get 2x for this drop since the price is so low. If you get one we would say the brown might look nicer from the start, but the natural would be more fun as you would witness and experience the aging process more. Also, don't forget to add a bottle of Venetian Cream to your order.
Can anyone recommend which band would be best for a Citizen CB0020-50E? I believe it has a 23mm lug width.
Bwarren5
Only 22mm will fit your watch from this drop but you will have a slight gap on each side (.5mm or less on each side). We can custom make a 23mm wide strap but they will cost substantially more. You can always try a 22mm wide strap out and see if you are ok with it, but we recommend getting the correct width as that is the right way. Info@DaLucaStraps.com
My watch has an odd width, 21mm, is this an available size?
dnoblett
Only 20mm will fit your watch from this drop but you will have a slight gap on each side (.5mm or less on each side). We can custom make a 21mm wide strap but they will cost substantially more.
