Just checking that the Nato option here means a 5 ring (with safety) strap, and the Zulu a 3 ring (one piece) strap.

gadgetstormLooks to me like the Zulu is a buckle plus two rings and the NATO is a buckle plus three rings. The leather on these looks thick enough that I think I'll go Zulu to hold down the bulk. I haven't joined the drop yet, still deciding. I'm more worried about how the inside will feel against the skin, and what sweat will do to it. Anyone have these that can comment?

gadgetstormBased on the pictures, this NATO is four rings instead of five.

JakeRobertsAs the NATO is the more expensive and longer option, I think you mean the NATO is the 4 ring version.
Correct?

gadgetstormWhoops, sorry about that! Yes, the NATO is the fou-ring strap, or like PetrosD correctly stated, three rings plus buckle.

PetrosDI have an Ashland Chromexcel valet tray. Maybe it's not the same as this, but the leather used for the valet tray is supple and smells divine. Also, it seems to take surface scratches well and with buffing blends scratches well.
Only thing is that that the leather is really quite thick. So, if the gap between your spring bars and case is not big, there might be some problems getting the strap through.
However, the price of these is low enough for me to take a chance (or two). Of course, I'd love to have real bronze buckles even for a little extra, but at this price, I am OK with it.

gadgetstormWe generally try to make the 18mm and 20mm wide straps from a tad thinner leather so the chance of them fitting on smaller watches is as close to 100% as possible. 22mm-26mm will be a tad thicker leather (super slightly) and will match the watch size accordingly. Nothing should be super thick where it overpowers the watch (looks-wise) or makes the fit difficult.
We do offer solid bronze buckles via our website in a 24mm and 26mm width only. We weren't able to add this option to this sale, but we hope to on any future drops with Massdrop.
These prices are extremely low for us, as we hand craft each one in San Diego, Ca and hand saddle stitch them together in our workshop. There are no sewing machines used on almost every product we offer (minus a few) and they take a long time to make. Enjoy them and grab them while you can as these are absolutely amazing prices!

DA-LUCAOK you convinced me to join the drop. You sound like a great company that stands behind their products. I also like that you're a small business that takes pride in what you do. Thickness has been an issue for me with some watches in the past. Hopefully yours will fit my watches well.
