DaArtCanary with iOS Devices To pair with iOS devices, you will need the Apple Lightning to USB3 Camera Adapter Apple MK0W2AM/A  (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01F7KJDIM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and follow this sequence: 1 - plug the USB-Lightning cable to a power source. 2 - plug the lightning to the adapter 3 - plug the adaptor to the iOS device 4 - last, plug the DAC USB to the adapter Recommendations:
  • Some audiophile apps run better if started after the previous steps.
  • The iOS volume must be at max and accessibility audio configurations set to default (balance at middle position) for bit perfect play - required for DSD play.
  • Guess it's suitable for any external powered DAC.
Tested on iPhone SE, iPhone7 running Tidal and Neutron Player (DSD). Is only me loving this DAC every day a little more?

Ffff.. Make sure to install the drivers and set DAC to 512 buffer size and disable safe mode. At first I was disappointed, but for some reason it set buffer size to 2048 and safe mode was enabled. Sounded 10x better after making those two changes. This beats my Schitt modi 2 and magni 2 by a long shot. Set settings as follows: Windows: 24bit 192000Hz DAC software: buffer size 512, DISABLE safe mode

Coming from a Schiit Modi and Magni 2 - excited to see how this stacks up. Can anyone provide any feedback/comparisons on this unit? I've read what little is already out there on the interwebs. It seems to be a very high quality unit (especially at it's drop price of $175).

Need some help guys... i have a sony bravia TV connected to my Magnat amp that is fueling a set of focal aria 948s. I usually use the 3.5mm output headphone jack to L and R phonos to connect tv with amp... the headphone jack failed on me and need to output sound through the optical connection now. This is connected to another rudimental DAC that is not throwing enough power for some odd reason and even at highest volume i cannot watch and hear a film decently. I was wondering if i buy this dac/amp would help my situation by connecting optical from tv to this DAC and than phonos from DAC to my main Magnat Amp! Or should i than get a wire from the headphone jack of the amp to connect to the phonos on my main amp? Bit confusing i know but am hoping someone here can give me a helping hand...

I'm looking for a DAC/Amp including line-in. And again, a promising and affordable device but without a remote. Is everybody sitting always right next to the equipment?

I own this one, and have to say it is not that impressing. Sure, the power is plenty, and it can push almost anything. But it has a ridiculously high 10Ohm of output impedance, which technically makes it completely unsuitable for multi-driver, low-impedance IEMs.

iFi DACs perform very poorly "for the price". Check out measurements on Audio Science Review, they are poorly ranked but still perform better than Schiit or Audio-GD DACs Get Topping DACs instead. .very great performance and value (measured on Audio Science Review)

artnoithank you , i will check their sites out :) haven't heard anything bad at all all this times about them , and for the price what's build in / it looked rly great (maybe the top units are bad price to perf ratio ?) i will check it out and look closer, by specs and used hardware - they rly shouldn't be bad at all maybe they perform just bad or there are bad QC units hmmm

I am using it for the past 1 year or so, I bought straight from their AliExpress store. The sound is very musical: extended sub-bass, mids are really transparent and the treble has good extension without being too picky about well-recorded tracks. The only issues are: 6.3mm output (so you'll have to use an adapter with most headphones), the power switch is in the back (not a big deal for me, I never turn it off) and the output impedance is high @10 Ohm so sensitive IEMs will need am impedance adapter.

verifonixThanks! I actually ended up selling mine and am on an SU-8, Jotunheim setup now. Should have the THX 789 by the end of the month. You’ll likely see a black Jotunheim on eBay soon hah.

Sabre DACs are bright in general. A lot of Chinese companies flooded the dac market with them.
