An intensely challenging game for one to four players, Dark Souls: The Board Game is modeled after the popular video game in which players explore the fictional kingdom of Lordran in a quest to discover the fate of their kind. Just like the video game, the board game is full of dangerous locations, formidable enemies, and compelling items Read More
My wife hates the game, but loves to play the Souls/Borne games. I am not happy with the game. I think it was a rushed pile of garbage, and a cash grab. Will bet you the RE2 board game will be the same. Didn't even slightly capture the feel of the video game. This game could have had any theme, nice of them to splash Dark Souls on a generic board game. I Kickstarted the game as well, not worth it.
Big DS fan and love board games but this one was a miss for me. Very bland and boring, look up gameplay on youtube to get an idea prior to buying unless you want to just collect. Worth maybe $50 imo.
I had a lot of fun with this game, but it is definitely not a KDM competitor. Use the recommended variant to speed the game up and it becomes a 2-hour-long dungeon crawler, where you go from zero to max level at warp speed and fight awesome bosses. Don't play campaign mode.
I own this game as well, and I‘m on the opposite end of the spectrum. Everything about this game is mediocre, the minis, the board, the gameplay. Check out the BGG score. It’s mediocure. It was touted as a Kindom Death Killer. It wasn’t. It’s more like it fell onto its own sword running away from KDM. I just got Massive Darkness. It’s much better. Adding a splash of Diablo to the Zombicide formula was fantastic.
AlbatrocityThe component quality is about the only thing it has going for it. The rulebook is confusing, it's difficult to get to the table, extremely repetitive, poorly balanced, and so on. My GF and I are hoping the KickStarter exclusives and the expansions finally freaking ship soon so we can sell it all and break even on it.
MadnapaliI am in the same boat you are in, my wife hates the game. I am not happy with the game. I think it was a rushed pile of garbage, and a cash grab. I own this game already (thanks Kickstarter) so I can tell you guys that this drop is 100% worth it. The game plays incredibly well with any size group 1-4. Be warned, it will almost certainly take you more than 90-120 minutes, though.
GrindThe miniatures, as well as all the components, are fantastic. My only complaint is mine had some minor bends at the sword/spear tips where the plastic was thinnest.
