I received my DV a couple of weeks ago but it arrived while I was away on business. i was able to set it up early Saturday am and burned in vintage NOS Tungsol (1963) preamp tube and RCA (1971) power tubes overnight .
Very very nice! My Sennheiser HD 600's sound warm detailed and highly musical. It even makes my old Koss Pro4aa's sound good No hums! No loose connections. exceptional product!

GugliermoWhy are you concerned about the heat so much?

mcburnjowClass A audio devices are extremely inefficient but produce the finest sound. Most of the energy is going to heat production. Heat is the enemy of all things mechanical and electrical. It will greatly reduce the life and performance. That machine gets very hot, it deserves to be in the open with a fan. Keeping it in a poor airflow bookcase corner without a fan is not what these fine machines will thrive on. Regards.

GugliermoThanks. I have upgraded my power tube to a JAN Tungsol 5998. It is a big upgrade. It seems more powerful than the RCA 6324. It handles my Senn 600's well and the sound stage is much wider while the gorgeous mids are still there. The old Koss Pro4a's which are a little higher impedance sound even better than before. The tube was used but tested well. It wasn't "cheap" . Still all in I'm under $500.
I do do have a solid state DAC/amp (Dragonfly Red) and portable amp (FiiO A3) that i use for travel as I'm on the road a lot. It's really sweet to get home and listen to the tubes. I'm really amazed how it makes my vinyl - some of which are 60+ years old (RCA Shaded Dogs and London FFRR's) sound so beautiful.

mcburnjowCongrats. Sounds like you're doing all the right things for max enjoyment. Spend $10 on a little 4" fan to protect your investment..(-;
