I am currently using a Little Dot 1+ Hybrid amp with a pair of Q701s. I have upgraded the OP amp and tubes and it works very well with the Q701s. I am in the drop for the Sennheiser HD 6XXs. I know the LD 1+ is not a good match for the 600s. Is this Dark Voice a good amp for both the Q701s and the 600s? I would prefer to have only one amp if possible.

beekermartinFrom the research I have done it sounds like this may not work well with the Q701s. I know it will work well with the HD6XXs and my current Little Dot 1+ will not. The only way to know for sure is to buy the DV and try it out for myself. I may need to keep both amps to properly power the Q701s and the HD6XXs. Worst case scenario is I have to sell the DV if I am not happy with it. They appear to hold their value fairly well.

beekermartinI have the beautiful Green Q701 headphones and they sound great with all four tube amps that I have and especially smooth with the Darkvoice. It tames the highs and even though there are a lot of great Headphones out there these are still one of my favorites.
