This is my first valve amp so I can not compare to other units but I definitely don’t regret buying thIs. Love the sound the bundled valves make although there is a buzzing noise. I understand that the buzzing noise can relate to the valves so looking forward to try something else in there too.

ste_c81I have a tung-sol 6SN7 that stopped humming after about 72 hours of burn in. See the link below for details on how to do it with the DarkVoice.

mindhead1I had the same experience. My Tung-sol 6SN7 is quiet now. I don't get how this works but I'm happy there's a solution. (Stock tubes had no hum in my case.)

mindhead1I am curious whether its the amp or the tube that changes after 72Hrs, making the hum disappear
After 72 Hrs, if you insert a new 6SN7 tube, does the hum come back?

maheeIn my experience each tube needs it's own break in period. I don't have many tubes, but each hummed differently and each needed time to burn-in before the humming went away. Now there is no noticeable hum from any of them.
