Who wants socks that has "Darn Tough" written on the front like that? They should rethink their lame logo placement. Otherwise very nice socks.

DogenI do. I've got a handful of pairs of these socks and the logo placement is completely irrelevant when compared to the quality of the product.
If you're buying socks to be fashionable, these aren't for you. If you're buying these because you never want to buy another pair of socks and you want your feet to be very comfortable every time you put them on, then these are for you.

S-204They would be much nicer without that lame branding but I get and respect what you're saying. Still a pass for me because of it.

DogenNot to mention there are very few pieces of footwear that would allow the branding to be displayed while INSIDE the footwear. If you're walking around another sock company without any footwear on and you're afraid you'll be embarrassed because you're displaying darn tough on your socks and you wish to give the impression that you are NOT tough then certainly these are not the socks for you. But I suppose you could invest in the same italian loom technology that this company did...research the threading and looming techniques and produce a similar product without branding. Or, you could copy their product...or you could save yourself a ton of money...and buy their product...and support an american company with american employees and save a few bucks by purchasing through massdrop. No one tells me how to spend my money and I certainly wouldn't want to tell you how to spend yours. But as someone who had NEVER heard of darn tough and never imagined I'd be willing to spend so much on a pair of socks can assure you that your money would be DARN well spent. When I put them on my feet, with the branding stretched out it appears (from afar) to be a black accent line. Yes on closer inspection you can see it's lettering. But if folks are looking at your feet that closely and would judge you poorly then keep buying those low quality socks by manufacturers who are too embarrassed to put their name where someone might recognize a low quality product as theirs. Darn Tough socks are JUST that...darn tough (with a lifetime warranty - I might add) and I'm darn proud to have their name emblazoned across my feet.

outofmemorylmfao. |"so much" ??dude.. back in 2010 when Peter Jackson probably wasn't even aware of them yet I was wearing those same extra beefy green smartwool socks (( seen in some 2012-2013 interview videos)) that cost 20 bucks a pair(and I thought it was too cheap and too fucking good buy).
but of course, MSRP. I mean you probably will find these socks going for 20 bucks a pair in stores as well.
also you sound like you get paid by Darn Tough to write this wall of text

lyrillIyrill - They are expensive for me - for a sock. Perhaps you're blessed with a better financial situation or feel justified in the expense - whatever - it's your money and your opinion. I felt it was a silly argument from dogen that he/she was unwilling to purchase these socks because of their name above the toes - which I felt was illogical considering you would rarely see the branding considering they'd be inside your shoe/boot...and even if you were one of those who were willing to look silly enough to wear socks with sandals it's likely the toe strap would block or obscure the branding also. And I can assure you I don't work for darn tough...though if they'd like to supplement my income I'll gladly write walls of text for them - heck they can send me some free pairs of their expensive socks in recompense. Just because someone is satisfied with a product/company doesn't mean they 'work' for them. Some just hate wasting money on poor products and appreciate the assistance of other consumers when spending their money. Happy new year.
