Have had these socks for a bit now and I am super happy with them. They do fit a little tight (I am 9.5 and got M size) but the tightness is not detracting. If you've worn compression socks, the snugness of fit is similar to that. I am thoroughly impressed by the padded feel of these socks, and the amount of punishment they can absorb. I bought them for wear with my hiking boots (3 days a week for about 13 hours per day) and the places on my feet that used to get rubbed and a little calloused are once again as soft and smooth as the day I was born. They get machine washed and tumble-dried after each wear and the color and feel of the material is still great. They have survived 20 unintended minutes in a dog's mouth (only a very small dog), sweat, blood, swampy water, mud, and dust. I did buy the darker colors so I cannot testify to the longevity of the lighter colors. These socks reached about one third of the distance from the middle of my ankle to the middle of my knee.
