While it may sound like a tribute to Santa Claus’s reindeer, the Dasher & Dancer Custom SA Keycap Set has nothing to do with Christmas—but that’s not to say it won’t make a great gift. Made possible by Massdrop, and designed by Geekhack and Deskthority community member zslane, this custom set of keycaps pays homage to the Dasher Terminal from Data General, which was one of the most advanced computers available upon its release. Based on the striking, two-toned blue keyboard of the original, it evokes a nostalgic 80s-era feeling. The Dasher kit is modeled after the original color scheme, but if you want to change things up, grab the inverted Dancer kit.
Note: To avoid errors/confusion with the current checkout system, we will be changing the drop points manually for this drop. We are paying attention to the number of child kits being bought as well. If they reach certain quantities, we will adjust their prices accordingly. You may notice fluctuations in your checkout price as we make these adjustments on the back end, but you will not be charged more for anything.

Made from thick doubleshot ABS plastic, these MX-style keycaps won’t fade and the legends won’t rub off after prolonged use. The set is fully sculpted in 1-1-2-3-4-3 SA profile. It’s also compatible with a wide range of keyboards including the ErgoDox, WhiteFox, and Planck—to name a few. This custom set will be made to order in the US by Signature Plastics.
The TKL kit forms the foundation for all keyboard configurations. It provides all the alphas and modifiers needed for a standard ANSI keyboard in TKL (tenkeyless) or smaller configurations. If you have a full-size ANSI keyboard, just add a Numpad kit and you're good to go. This kit also provides a few keycaps which users frequently like to have in the alternate color, as well as F and J deepdish homing keys.
This kit covers most numpad configurations including the standard ANSI 17-key layout as well as 19-key international and 23-key aftermarket numpads. The extra 5 key is a deepdish homing key.
This kit provides the additional keycaps necessary to outfit a Planck keyboard (along with the TKL kit, which you will also need). The arrow keys from the TKL kit are perfect for the left/down/up/right keys on the bottom row.
For ErgoDox users, this kit supplies the 1u, 1.5u, and 2u (blank) keycaps necessary to fill out your modifier positions.
If you have a keyboard with a non-standard (non-ANSI) layout, then this kit is for you. It's intended to cover a wide range of alternate layouts, including all six of the canonical WhiteFox layouts.
For most, the standard R3 arrow keys in the base TKL kit will suffice. But for those of you who want the choice of alternate colors and/or prefer a different profile arrangement, then this kit of arrow keys provides all the arrows you would need to configure your arrow cluster in any way imaginable.
Important: If you are ordering both of the Dasher and Dancer TKL kits and are interested in the ARROWS kit, you will only need ONE of the ARROWS kits, not both. Which one should you get? Well, you will end up with a duplicate set of R3 arrow keys either way. With the DASHER Arrows kit, the duplicates will be in color BO, and with the DANCER Arrows kit the duplicates will be in color BBJ. Order the kit according to which color of duplicates you'd prefer.
This kit supplies all the alternate keycaps necessary for the DVORAK and COLEMAK ergonomic layouts. Users of these layouts will need the base TKL kit in addition to this one.
The ISO kit serves as the basis for most ISO keyboards, and in particular ISO UK layouts.
Nordic keyboard users will be happy to see this one. The NORDE kit supplies the additional keycaps necessary to outfit most Nordic and German keyboards. The ISO kit is also necessary to fully cover a NORDE keyboard.
Don't care for the retro style of the SUPER and META legends on the bottom row modifiers? Then this kit is for you. It provides 1.25u modifier keys with legends specific to the Macintosh and Windows operating systems.
For users who need 7u spacebars, or who like to stock up on extra (6.25u) spacebars, these kits are the answer. Each kit comes with one 6.25u spacebar and one 7u spacebar.
