Do you know if the standard top provides enough clearance for the rotary encoder the rev-6 is compatible with, or would that require moving up to a tall?
Cogswatch
From pictures that I've seen on an DSA set the knob goes past the top of the caps. I'm getting the taller version just to be safe.
no love for my boy the preonic? SMH my head 😔❌💙
Addison_woods
We have a preonic case design, it's just not currently on Massdrop.
Will there be a mod case for this in the future? If not, how hard would it be to make the needed adjustments? Thanks!
arelicast
What do you mean by mod keyboard?
Datamancer
Hi, on the OLKB site there is a case (mod) that has holes in it to allow for further components to the new rev6 pcb . I wanted to know if those cutouts might be available for this case in the future. Thank you.

I'm probably asking for too much, but I'll try anyway: do you have high-pro plates to supply with the cases? I have an EOTW one and I haven't seen any high-pro in Europe for a while.

OLKB ships internationally. I've bought several things from them/him and I'm in Sweden.
OK. Thanks for reply.
How much does the case weight? (with or without the keyboard)
Are these treated in any way or are there any treatment recommendations?
hampusk
They're coated with lacquer. So no coating should be necessary.
Datamancer
Thanks.
Sorta new to the keyboard game, so excuse the stupid question. What's gained by having the tall version? Does the standard one not fit all keycap heights?
boosmyller
Not a stupid question! Yes the standard version only fits keycap heights of standard height or lower. Anything taller, like SA, will need the taller lid to fit without depressing the keycaps when the case is closed.
For those asking, I'm adding two potato quality images that show how deep the keycaps sit into the case, and how much taller the tall lid is than the regular lid.

Reposting this from the previous drop for visibility: I wanted to add some pictures to this, since the pictures on the massdrop page are sorta hacked together. They didn't have a rev 6 planck to put into the case when the pictures were taken.

Sorry I don't have any pictures of the taller lid, but it will be taller by about 1/4". Hopefully the first image gives people an idea of how deep the caps sit into the case. It's very much similar to Jack's Hi-Pro style of cases on olkb.com
Does this fit the Planck rev. 4?
laurabrewer1999
No, I believe the Rev 4 has different mounting locations, if you would like a case that fits a rev 4 I may have some left over from previous drops. Let me know
Will it work with minivan keyboard like kumo?
Exvin
No, the Minivan has a different form factor.
Datamancer
Have you maybe some plans to making some for that factor. I would be very interested
Are the pictures by @Datamancer 13 weeks ago are the better representation of what the case will look like? I'm wondering since the pictures on this drop are the lo-pro case from before. I also wanted to know if I order the regular case, will it fit a DSA keycap set, or will I need to get the taller version?
(Edited)
arelicast
Yes, those pictures are a more accurate representation of the case. The one pictured on the drop is heavily photoshopped. It should fit a DSA keycap set without the tall lid.
Any chance of a Preonic version soon? Hoping to pick one up for my new board that’s coming in at the end of the month
Birtle
Another vote for the Preonic case please!
Does it fit minivan keyboard like Kumo?
Exvin
It does not (per an earlier post here)
I missed this drop. Will there be another one, or will this be for sale somewhere?
idealcheese
Today's your lucky day.
Is there a 60% version available? I wanted to get one of these for my Anne Pro 2. :)
lava
Same here, would love a 60% version!!
Well, this is nowhere near High-Pro
fcoury
I think it's labeled that way because it fits the high pro plate.
This should fit the EOTW version as well, right?
kometsu
No, I don't exactly know why, but the EOTW top plate is apparently not compatible with either the Lo Pro or Hi Pro bottoms. See here: https://olkb.com/planck?category=hi-pro, the red and green chart shows all compatibility with the different bottoms and plates.
Datamancer
I think this is because the EOTW plate doesn't have any (screw) holes
(Edited)
Is the tall lid too tall to be a wrist rest?
Wauss
I think it depends on the way you use wrist rests. The wrist rest is higher, but theoretically your keycaps will also be higher.
I wanted to add some pictures to this, since the pictures on the massdrop page are sorta hacked together. They didn't have a rev 6 planck to put into the case when the pictures were taken.

What’s the difference between the regular and tall lid? Will the regular lid fit a normal dsa keyset?

In both the tall and normal?
boosmyller
Just tall.
Come on! Which moron assembled this planck? And the photographer did not even see the reverted "N'-key? ;)

I just received my Datamancer case and it works as advertised. The fit between the cover and the base isn't as snug as it could be, it has a very slight wobble, and the magnetic inserts look rushed. Annoyingly enough it didn't come with extra screws like the overview said it would, so I'm down a set of screws for the other case I swapped out for. Though the price is steep, I get the privilege of having a nice all-in-one plank keyboard. (If you're reading this Datamancer, I want them screws.) Edit: The wrist mount magnetically sticks a little farther to the left than it should.
Caduceus
I just got mine (shipping to FIN took a while with a quick stop at the customs office). For some reason the cover attaches about 2 mm to the left when used as a wrist rest. I have no clue why since the magnets on the sides themselves are well in alignment. EDIT: On a closer look, the side magnets appear to be about 1 mm on the right side, so the cover ends up slightly on the left when used as a wrist rest. Doesn't bother me though - I think it's well in my personal tolerances. :) /EDIT Otherwise, the case is absolutely wonderful, 10/10. Now I just have to wait for OLKB to ship the pcb and plate to finish this.
Caduceus
Email me and I can get you some screws. Marketing@datamancer.com. As far as the misalignment of the magnetic wrist rest, it might be something that is within tolerance, but I will look into the issue.
Will this fit the new Rev 6 PCB???
distracteddev
Yes it does!
How many of the screws come with this/if I only have a Planck PCB, hi-pro top plate, switches, keycaps, and proper USB cable will I be able to use my case properly? Like will I need any extra standoffs or anything else?
Preonic?
wood is highly awesome for tactile feels
Is it hot-swappable?

Is it compatible with the products on this link? https://olkb.com/planck?category=hi-pro
Young_Won
Yep, that's the one!
If I'm reading it right it would be compatible with the Massdrop x OLKB Planck Mechanical Keyboard Kit, but it doesn't look like it would fit. https://www.massdrop.com/buy/55792
To clear up any confusion. The side profile pic (4 of 12) is a photoshopped image of a lo-pro Planck set on top of this case. Massdrop did not have any Hi-Pro Plancks available for photography. The keycaps will sit much lower than is pictured in that image. As far as the profile of keycaps that will fit; it should fit most keycaps that are NOT SA profile. SA Profile caps will *sorta* fit, in that the lid will close, but the keycaps will be depressed when the lid is closed.
EDIT: I think the last time Massdrop had a drop for the Planck keyboard kit, they had both Lo-Pro and Hi-Pro options. EDIT 2: It is important to note that Lo-Pro and Hi-Pro Plancks have different plate sizes, and this case will not fit a Lo-Pro Planck plate. https://olkb.com/planck has some information on this.
