PhalixHappy birthday! As a huge fan of this watch: this is a totally valid concern. I would highly recommend this watch, but if you don't have an insurance policy that covers watches—and especially if you don't live in a nice area—then it should become a consideration. Doubly so if you're obsessed with the skeleton like I am...
On the flip side, the lack of a big brand name is a huge plus. First, it doesn't make you a target for theft ("what's a davosah?"), and second your friends will be more impressed by how great it looks than judgemental over the price tag.
All in all: I made the jump for this watch because I thought it was worth the (admittedly very low) risk. But to each their own :)
