I ordered the 453. For $1 more, I figure it's a no brainer. I have two more DMM's, but can never find one when I need one. This way, If I ever mange to find all 3, I can have 1 in the garage toolbox, one in the basement workshop toolbox and one in the house.
Why would anyone buy the 450 over the 453?
I've been an electrician for 10 years and while in the US Navy I did a lot of electronics troubleshooting on the 5"54Mk2 gun mount and have done a lot of electronics schooling. I am a Fluke man through and through. Having said that I have to say Dawson multimeters are accurate and reliable meters from my experience. Dawson meters are a great value.

I find it hard to buy anything but Flukes, and they last forever too..
Fuzz
I agree
Do these come with a certificate of calibration?
I assume that for 453 we would have to buy the temperature adapter separately somewhere?

The 453 comes with the thermocouple leads in addition to regular test leads.
Wow, that DDM453 looks very nice. Nice accuracy, too, according to its datasheet.
