Some great Drops recently-Deep Blue, Victorinox, Seiko, Spinnaker-but just bought the Glycine Sub (two), and the Orient Diver. Gotta start passing!
Someone please tell me the Orient Diver is a better value than this one to make me feel better.
watchkookI love my Ray II, and I think that is the Orient you speak of. I have had the Raven (black PVD-coated) since that model came out, and it is fantastic. I have it on a NATO (tired of the bracelet), and it has taken a real beating. I did scratch the crystal, but I am just happy I did not shatter it (I did mess up my wrist for weeks). I bought a sapphire for this, but the woman who was going to put it in moved.
Needless to say, for the money the Orient Ray II is about as good as it gets. Of course if you can swing $500, then get the Seiko Sumo. I really want that, but I am saving for that cool blue dial Marine Master for $1100.
Also, although I am a "Me-kook" I do think I could be a "watch-kook" as well.
watchkookI don't think one is better than the other. They are both great watches. The Orient has the advantage of being an entirely in house watch (including movement) while the DB is a parts catalogue watch. Both are great and you can't go wrong with either one. The Orient was priced really well also, so be glad you jumped on it and wear it with a smile knowing you got a great watch at a good price.
