Hi, I have just received my Deep Blue and noticed that the sapphire crystal appears to be a bit blurry at some angles and not as clear as my Seiko hardlex crystal, does anybody know if this a characteristic of sapphire crystal ?

andytw71I have heard that you can notice a slight purple tinting with sapphire crystals, but I don't have this watch, so I can't be sure - contact Deep Blue, the watch has a warranty, right? I do have a DB Sun Diver II and have never noticed what you are mentioning.
Please let us know what you find out.

I like the 1000 meter rating and I don't dive.  The rating not only deals with the depth, but also the activity at depth.  I surf.  A breaking wave puts intense pressure on a watch (and a human)

I hope if/when these come back, there is an option for the blue dial with a black band and bezel. My second favorite is the orange dial but I can't decide between the black and the orange bezel...uggghhhh

I picked up the quarts version of this a few years ago and it really is a solid watch. My ONLY complaint with it is the spring on the bezel is a bit weak for my liking but other than that, 10/10. I replaced the band with a metal bracelet with a diving extension (not from Deep Blue).
For the money, it's a fantastic watch. Personally in a dive watch I prefer quartz only because the crown is usually a screw down and it becomes tedious to wind it up because I don't have an automatic winder.
Foe $199, this is EASILY worth the money. Great depth rating, fantastic customer service, true sapphire crystal and an auto. You really can't beat it if you're looking for a diver.

I'd like a blue face w/black strap ... if we could get that?
This is a handsome watch with the orange minute hand.

Definitely supportive of more blues to be available.

Deep Blue makes a great watch for dollar spent. I have an original Sea Diver ( basically the same watch with slightly different lugs and a bracelet). I have the first gen that I believe has a Myota movement. I never had a problem in over four years of use and many compliments from both watch addicts and non watch people. This is a decent price for what your getting but I think if you take your time and look for sales, you may get it a little cheaper (keep an eye on Evine for sales and coupon codes).
