Hey everyone! Here's some measurements fresh off the rig. I'll extrapolate further what's going on but here's a start.....

tdkocenSeems like sheepskin is the clear winners here? Maybe? I always get befuddled by charts...

zep483After some reconsideration, I decided to go with the fenestrated sheepskin. I wish they made fenestrated sheeksin insides with normal sheepskin on the outside... I'd go for hybrids, but I'm not a huge valour fan.

tdkocenCould you do a comparison with the 4XX? or just the 400i with the Focus A pads. Dekoni pads are undoubtly more comfortable and will last longer, but would like to stay close to the stock sound.

VishmawIf it helps, I bought both the fenestrated and the normal elite sheepskin. I like them both. The fenestrated sound nearly identical to the stock pads... maybe a very slight accentuation of the highs and a slight lessening of the bass (maybe). It keeps the sparkle of the headphone. The elite sheepskin is a bit more darkened in color, but only slightly and very relaxing. I thought I was going to keep the fenestrated on, but I find the regular elite sheepskin more comofortable, both in terms of physical comfort and for long-listening sessions. Either is a good option in my opinion though. I did not try the hybrid or velour because I'm against velour in the long run. I did try at Dekoni's booth at RMAF, their velour and hybrids are better than most, but unless you just really love their material (which is different than most), I wouldn't bother. Honestly, the stock pads on the HE4XX are probably better than Dekoni's hybrids for this headphone unless you just want their different materials or your stock pads are super worn.

tdkocenSeems like Hybrid and Elite Velour are the closest to stock? I have bad eyes... Can we have this with just the stock and the those two? :)

AnalysisParalysisHere's a comp of just those 2. Please note, I moved the crossover point from 500hz to 200hz because they are most similar in that range so it makes it easier for comparisons sake to see the difference in dB. TL;DR - the graphs are closer together and more accurately reflect the differences in frequency and not overall level changes. if you want a higher res version feel free to email at tal@dekoniaudio.com. I am about to leave the house though to go to a museum so I may not respond for a while......

tdkocenThat is really helpful! Could you do the same for the Sheepskin and Fenestrated Sheepskin? Drop is not up atm but I assume it will be back again!

tdkocenInteresting to see chart for two options, fenestrated and stock. Is it worth its money? Could you kindly provide?

tdkocenIt is very nice that you posted these frequency graphs but there something odd about the original graph showing stock and all four pads and this one showing on stock and Hybrid and velour pads. The stock plot in the two graphs do not match. If you look at just the bass where it is easier to read, you see that in the graph comparing the 4 pads to stock, the stock pads are at -12 or -13 dB at 10Hz. While here in this graph, the stock pads are at -2 dB at 10Hz. What happened? Am I missing something?

birdlandThe first graph has all graphs intersecting at 500Hz, and the second graph is intersecting at 200Hz.

thefitzOK a little late in replying but how can the cross over point change? It doesn't make any sense to me at all. The headphones and pads should behave the same. Obviously I am missing something.

birdlandThey don't necessarily cross over at a certain frequency - whoever made the graphs set that crossover frequency for consistency's sake.
