SpamShadowNo, the HD598 family of headphones use a completely different ear pad. I just tried attaching one of my HD650 pads on my HD598 SE and it doesn't fit. The ring on the pad was too small for the cup on the HD598.
ridhuankimNo problem. I wasn't sure so I had to check for myself! I suppose you could rig these pads to work with the HD598, but they definitely won't just "snap" in like the original pads do. I personally just wouldn't bother. Maybe people can convince Dekoni to make these pads for the HD5x5/HD5x8/ HD5x9 family as well. @dekoni how about it?
SpamShadowNo, since it has different pads size. But i tried a pair of zmf oval lambskin, it works nicely even though i have to swap it (right to left, left to right) because the position of the driver already angled and to make sure the sound delivered right into ear canal. 598SE sounds better but lost some sound stage.
fr2lReason for getting HD598CS was because I gave away my AT-M50 and wanted to get a new closed back headphones for office use.
I bought Fostex T-X0 assuming it was closed back but the tuning Included making it semi-open. It leaks sound.
So I got Fostex X00 ebony but it also leaks sound.(I had fun modding it with detachable cable, mmcx connector without any physical mod)
Then my colleague(who bought my beyer DT880) let me try his sennheiser HD428(he replaced cable and plug) which didn't leak any sound and sounded pretty well balanced overall lackung some details, a bit grainy highs and a bit non-linear soundstage(a plane flying from left to right actually sounds like it is making a curve).
He didn't want to sell it to me so I purchased HD598CS with trust in the brand name(I use HD6xx at home or sometimes on the street).
When I get back(19 Mar), I will be able to test HD598CS with original and the leather pads, assuming they would have been delivered by then.
Can't wait!
ridhuankimYeah, both TH-X0 and TH-X00 is semi open so it leaks sound. I want own X00 PH but situation doesnt say so, needs to put to other things first.
Hope you enjoy with your headphones, have a good day sir!
