ReneVillelaThey should be, since the 1000x and 1000xm2 are largely identical except for battery, buttons and mic port design.
No guarantees but 95 % sure.
SaeulfThe WH-1000XM2 pads are only officially for the stated model. We’re working on releasing pads for the XM3 model, which requires a minor redesign to fit onto the different earcups.
Sometimes the physical differences between models is small, but can make all the difference for the pads to sound right and the mount to fit correctly. We want all of our customers to have a great experience with their new pads!
ReneVillelaSoooo......no answer to this yet? I'm also in if they fit the originals. It sure looks like they should fit. I assume i'd be SOL if I bought em and they don't fit? I'd rather not get my headphones torn down and then learn that I have to do some modifications to make it work.
Over-ConsumerThese are only intended for the WH-1000XM2. We have not tested them with the original MDR-1000x, EDIT: and now we have! These pads do work on the 1000x, but the XM3 will need a different mount. A WH-1000XM3 version is in the works, and never say never about future pads!
DekoniAudioUhmmm.... I have Dekoni pads on all my headphones except on the Sony MDR-1000x and AKG 702 because I just got them. Don't you think it would be a good Idea to see if they can be use on the MDR-1000x?????? It seems a lot of people are interested about them. For sure I will get them...... It seems very simple to me just go ahead and see if they can be used.
ReneVillelaHey Rene and everyone!
Good news! We ordered a used pair of the first gen MDR-1000x, and the day they arrived in the mail we got a few messages from people saying they were compatible with the first generation product. We of course verified it ourselves since we went to the trouble of buying a pair... so you are good to go!
ReneVillelaFor sure!
These Choice Pads are rapidly becoming our best sellers, and we’ve been having great feedback on them. We’re actually bringing two pairs of WH-1000XM2 with us to the NAMM show in California (we’re east-coast based), comfortable noise cancelling headphones are “essential survival gear” for long flights! Confident you’ll like ‘em!
ReneVillelaI finally got to use these pads. I ordered them the first time they were around. They arrived here in Japan in January 2nd but I only use the Sony MDR 1000x when I travel. Now I’m on a train on the way to Tokyo and I’m really happy with them. They are more comfortable than the original pads and the insolation is better too. Perfect fit on the 1st gen.
