does it really flip like that? how much did you guys get it for? can't we wait until theirs like 5,000 requests and make sure we get it at the 2nd or 3rd tier lowest wholesale value at least? i would be willing to enter my credit card info before hand (just for you to think on) upon signing up if i knew that any request i made i was going to be held accountable for if the massive amount was met such as 5,000 or 25,000 if the price was a steal of course, it would transcend a revolution to the stratosphere.
the more i see the more i like but based off the sales timings it feels like an inside thing to me and i'm always underneath....

who in their right mind would use a monitor at 30hz? that would be like sticking your eyes into a cheese grater.

AwesomeTomThink of them as smooth hertz, the refresh rate of the image is at 30hz, but I am betting the pixel s themselves are refreshing at a higher interval, hopefully not too much higher, as that would cause jutter at 30hz, but LCDs have a smoother fall-off curve so 30hz is fine for static content and probably even most web animations, youtube vids etc, as the source is probably 30hz or lower.
A gaming monitor this is not, unless you are in 1080p, but even then the upsampling is going to give the virtual pixels a blockier feel.

Unfortunately, it looks like there is still just 30Hz refresh rate at the 4k resolution, no 4k gaming at 60Hz. Have to keep waiting.

Does anyone know the model number of this unit? AnandTech had a review of the Dell UP2414Q last December which disclosed details from Dell's US website to the effect that the optimal resolution was 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz (DP1.2*) and 3840 x 2160 at 30 Hz HDMI. Any chance this Mass Drop unit is similar? The specs on this page only state Optimal resolution- 3840 x 2160 at 30 Hz

I still get flickering but some friends think it might be due to a lousy HDMI cable (though I tried the mini display port cable too). Will try some other cables tomorrow.
Dell said they would replace it if necessary

Anyone else having problems with their monitor? Mine is flickering like crazy... giant black bars randomly stretching across the screen at different locations and at different intervals. I tried the HDMI and the mini DisplayPort from my Macbook Pro. Tried different resolutions and different refresh rates. Not happy. Nice resolution, though.
