hey guys, i think its time everyone stops ranting about this drop. Massdrop is not perfect. It is a democratic system with input from the manufacturer also. We dont know how negotiations go for Massdrop. Maybe they had to take on this deal to allow the other Delta to come here too. We do not know. So lets give them some slack. After all, they have given us a lot of other good products at great prices. It is not a perfect system, but when they get things right a majority of the time, they are definitely doing something right.
If you dont like the product, move along. That is all I am saying.

cmon massdrop, this is like that ridiculously overpriced (~900) watch drop that turned out to be available on ebay for 100 bucks. this pen doesn't even look the business and has relatively cheap materials even the gold is only worth like 30 bucks on its own. I come here for your curated value+class+QUALITY products if you loose that and keep posting ridiculous things then might aswell go to any groupbuy site..
i understand when there is a pair of STAX for 1k+ but this is obviously not in that league

Just as a FYI to anyone still considering this pen, the "fusion" nib is made by simply gluing the gold bit onto the steel nib. http://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/272794-delta-fusion-my-vote-is-in/#entry3094911

So the cost of producing this pen is what, 50 bucks including materials? That's a hell of a profit margin.

bryant @bryant the materials are cheap (not that cheap) but you are paying for the name, the design of the pen and the nib, and the tooling for a very small production so it probably costs them at least $300 to manufacture
