Sound Signature
The D5000s exemplify Denon's house sound. Aggressive detail, consuming bass, and balanced mids make this headphone a pleasure to use. Ever notice the microphone taps during "Helter Skelter" counting in the vocals? How about Dre laughing behind his mic during "American Psycho II"? That's what we mean by aggressive detail. The bass emphasis starts at low cello strings and goes through frequencies you can only feel."The Motto" by Drake feels like you're floating in a sea of honey, and "Through the Loop" by Pendulum is jarring. It's impressive to think that Denon created this bass response without suppressing any mid or high-end frequencies. The result is stunning on tracks like "Do You Realize" by The Flaming Lips. Bass hits are deep but the vocals and cymbals come through and accent the bass perfectly.
