nelsonThanks, I'm surprised it came out so well. Also just fyi for anyone interested, this was shot with a Nikon D5200 with the 35mm 1.8 DX lens and 81A filter.

Here is another pic of the D5000 and my Arizer Extreme Q (I believe that is basil in the chamber) which also happens to be on Massdrop. I'm starting to get annoyed, everytime I buy something full price Massdrop has to come along and make things cheaper :P

NguyenDepends on what you're looking for. If you find the bass to be a bit too bloated and the mids a bit recessed then this mod helps to an extent.

I did not perform the last part of the mod (the additional dynamat on the front side of the driver where you need to punch/cut a bunch of holes). But based on what I have done the mid bass seems to have decreased a bit but it still hits pretty damn hard. Mids are a bit better but when compared to my HE-500's and HD 650's they still sound a bit lacking/recessed. Overall for the cost of materials and effort required (both pretty minimal) I would say it's worth giving it a shot.

On a different subject, I would definitely recommend getting replacement pads for the D5000. I'm currently using alpha pads (from MrSpeakers) with mine and they fit great and feel even better. Sound wise they kind of artificially boost the sound stage by simply changing the distance from your ear to the driver. More importantly they provide a much better seal (I found the stock pads a bit loose on my noggin) which helps to slightly increase the amount of sub bass you can hear.
