These audio hat expansion shields for the Raspberry Pi fit directly on the GPIO and will dramatically improve the audio quality on the popular mini computer. The main X400 model includes a built-in high fidelity headphone amplifier with a 3.5 mm audio jack. It has two digital amplifier output ports and allows you to connect external speakers. You can also use it to turn your Raspberry Pi into a lossless audio player or network radio with an OS image. Best of all, no soldering or wiring is necessary. You can also upgrade to the X600 version, which decodes and separates voices from HDMI signals. It supports Dolby Digital AC-3, LPCM, and other formats, too.

Following the success of the first two versions, and in celebration of the 4th anniversary of the credit-card sized computer, Seeed has released the third generation of the Raspberry Pi. This updated version features an improved 1.2 GHz 6-bit quad-core processor, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. With a host of plugins, connectors, pins, and ports, the Raspberry Pi 3 B is fully equipped to help you start prototyping and exploring the internet of things.
