I'm having trouble understanding what you set this on or how you hold it to allow easy cranking. Holding it in one hand while cranking with the other seems a recipe for busting knuckles.

My grandpappy used to throw the end of one of these in the lake and crank the crap out of it and use a scoop net for any fish that floated up from being electrocuted. Still am undecided about whether he was brilliant or cruel for that. Pretty sure brilliant though. He also used TNT sometimes... but that is a different story.
