ChurchillWIt's long been a pet peeve of mine, that for the majority of the OEM straps I've owned, the strap end never seemed to make it through the second "floating" keep. So, the long side of these straps is roughly 10mm longer than a typical strap in order to address that issue.

bill_districtleatherAh...sounds like a big wrist problem. Those of us with small wrists don't know what to do with all of the extra strap.... With a NATO strap we fold back. Can't really do that with anything lined or padded.

ChurchillWTrue, I've got the big and tall gift/curse, and my wrist is 8.75."
We toyed with the idea of offering a smaller sized strap too, but couldn't quite get the size range sorted out in time. Is there any particular size/range you'd like to see in our future watch strap events? If there's enough feedback in the discussion thread indicating the demand for a third length option, we could look into updating this event for that size.

bill_districtleatherHonestly, I really shouldn't be speaking, because I'm at the lower range of the standard size, so that could work for me, but there were two other drops not too long ago (too lazy to look it up) where there were other members that wanted a short/shorter size too. I think those were both NATO type straps though.
Not sure if there are enough members that want shorter straps for it to make sense to manufacture them, but there is some demand.
Pulled this off of an Amazon review, but it looks like a Hadley Roma standard short watch strap is: long strap: 103mm short strap: 63mm

ChurchillWI could definitely accommodate a smaller size, it just may not make sense to incorporate it into Massdrop events. If that's the case, anyone interested should feel free to contact me through the District Leather website and we can make it happen.
Thanks for looking up the Hadley Roma specs. Most of their keeps seem to be about 5mm wide, while each of these is about 10mm. I'll try to get some photos of the strap on an average sized wrist so you can see the strap end.

bill_districtleatherI will chime in and say that I am one of those with smaller wrists (6.25"). I would appreciate it if smaller straps were regularly offered on massdrop. The normal strap lengths with a buckle and tang I use are 75/110mm. But I really like 75/95mm straps so I can use a deployant type buckle.

hanryyAwesome, we'll go ahead and begin looking into making shorter straps for future events. We're also planning to offer deployants as a hardware option ;)

If I may offer my personal opinion on hardware: Single fold deployants where the tail gets tucked inside of the band are great. With those you don't need any keepers and little or no metal touches your skin. A good example of these are the Bader Deployants used by Christopher Ward (https://www.christopherward.com/blog/the-bader-buckle/) or omega style deployants.
