$110 for Chinese made jeans? The Canadian made Naked & Famous were cheaper!

naterwI mean technically these do have more "features" hidden rivet, selvege pockets Etc, and I don't think the msrp is ridiculous for what they are for instance a Levi's 501 selvedge made in U.S. is $150 and frankly they don't look nearly as well sewn as these. With that said however, $40 is a shit discount and not worth it, not to mention those crotch rivets look atrocious.

naterwThanks your comment.
We do have similar impression/questions in previous drop events or when people first see our jeans were "made in China". I hope our previous replys (https://www.massdrop.com/buy/doublewood-13-75oz-raw-denim/talk/478570 or https://www.massdrop.com/buy/doublewood-raw-selvage-denim/talk/1600695?utm_source=linkshare&referer=JMT87A) can illustrate our take.
In short, our jeans were designed & prototyped in SF Bay Area and proudly crafted in a family-owned denim workshop in southern China which has over 30yrs denim making experience. We took pride in our craftsmanship along with the price point. (which for us is mainly because we also own the tailor workshop, in lieu of cutting corner through fabrics, details). We put together a pair of everyday jeans w/ finest selvedge denim fabrics & subtle but discreet details. For instance, our back pockets are backed w/ extra linens to avoid indigo bleed, our single felled inseam color varies per batch for distinction and also for a clean silhouette, hidden rivet, also we brought back the exclusive crotch rivet to pay tribute to the pre '50s Levi's for a classic look, chainstitch hemming & heavy weight belt loop for utilitarian look & a more interesting roping effect, every pair of our jeans will come w/ a 10oz unprimed dustbag for future worn jeans storage/ travel, every batch is limited production.
Again, we strive to offer a pair of solid (and yet still somewhat reasonably priced) denim that take a step further in terms of details/back story & passion, than the usual-chain-store type of denim. Last but not least, hopefully by reading through the following interviews from Heddals and Dutil, AMA , and brand videos will help people to understand our brand/story better.

Alee.GCrotch rivet design was intended to pay tribute to the pre '50s Levi's for a classic look. Sorry that it doesn't impress you.

Doublewood_DenimOh I'm well aware of the history , but that doesn't stop these from looking like you have a bejeweled dick.

Alee.GThanks for your aesthetic input; althou since when bejeweled genital is deemed out of trend? (lol) Joking aside, I do agree crotch rivet is certainly a bold & explicit detail and its probably not for everyone. One could also argue similarly for button fly vs zipper fly and the list goes on. Cheers!
