Equipped with a brushed motor and waterproof ESC, Dromida’s SC4.18 short-course truck is easy to drive and a ball to bash. The M370 motor is capable of excellent speed right out of the box, while the ESC ensures weather is no match for this 1/18-scale truck Read More
Hello! I received my Dromida SC4.18 in the mail today. Looks great! Charged the battery per the recommended instructions in the manual. It doesn't respond very well. It will go forward and turn but as soon as I put it in reverse while turning, it starts stops responding and jerks back and forth. Is there something that I can do? Seems like I got a faulty R/C car.
GaugeMI'm having similar issues as you describe... Whenever I "floor it" it'll jerk around and make a sound. But it'll operate just fine if you slowly accelerate to full speed. Wondering if it could just be the battery isn't getting fully charged through the charger or something.
The car is really cool looking, I agree, and I think the size is fantastic.
essendonfootyYea, I charged my battery for 4 hours and it would run, but still cant floor it. Just like you, I have to slowly accelerate to full speed. Maybe faulty battery? Just like Dave Hoff said, I need to contact dromida customer support for this.

JeversVerdikt is 2wd vs Dromida is 4wd. Verdikt is a little larger at 1/12 scale vs Dromidia 1/18 scale (smaller numers are bigger). And the Verdikt has a lipo battery stock vs Dromidia's nimh. Lipo batteries tend to drain slower and are lighter than nimh, but do require more care. Both have ample replacements.
The big difference lies in the upgrades. Both have the ability to be brushless. However, you cannot get a 4wd conversion kit for the Verdikt, or aluminum chassis parts. This truck comes equipped with 4wd, and has aluminum chassis parts readily available on amazon for sale, as well as a LiPo battery you can buy.
For this price, I'd say the Dromidia truck is worth it vs the Verdikt, even if you were just looking for a lower-end hobby grade vehicle, I don't see much reason to get the verdikt vs. this at this price.
If you want a really good indoor car check out the Losi 1/24 rally or short course vehicles. But pick this one up anyway cause you'll love it! Parts support is great and hop ups are plentiful. When you do outgrow the brushed motor, just slap in an $80 Castle Creations 1/18 scale brushless setup and shred the tires off of it. :D
