It appears these only come with the utility cord, whatever that is. Is there any way to actually connect these to anything, or do we need to purchase separate adapters? If so, where do we get them?

The headphone comes standard with a 3.5mm termination so it can connect to any AUX input out of the box. The "utility" part just means that it can be disconnected at the Y splitter and swapped with a lightning or usb-c termination which are sold separately on the KOSS site.

kstokleyThat’s insane. I literally ordered three of these because the marketing email promoting them said these utility headphones connect with usbc or lightning. It’s some really slippery salesman caveat empor suggestion knowingly hyping a utility that the headphone has as a reason to purchase it while hiding the fact that it doesn’t ship with said utility in the fine print. That’s beneath you, drop.

Raise your hand if you read the marketing points with confidence, not skepticism (because it’s drop; trust them), only to discover you should have read more carefully because of this guy’s question. Me, for one.
Drop; you did not say sold separately in the email you sent promoting this headset. You did push that you can connect with multiple methods, usb-c and lightning, with a special Koss cable which is implied as being the “utility” of this headphone.
I don’t know who you hired to write copy on this stuff. If they said they were part of a team having great sales on some Kickstarter or working for wish… sneaky sneaky sneaky. Be better.

johnnys_massdropFYI, the utility series lightning and usb-c cables cost $ 44.99 on the KOSS site when you buy them separately, but only $19.99 when you buy them with the $39.99 headphones. You don't get the snazzy read and blue drop cushions, though.

johnnys_massdropThe utility is the top part of the cord that let's you switch between different connections; that was pretty clear. If you were unsure whether this purchase came with all 3 special connection cables, you could have read more.
It's not about reading with skepticism, it's about reading with comprehension.
