More power to the guy for making the product, but I would suggest checking out the fs mini wiregate carabiner from metolius. They're half an oz heavier, but they are rated for climbing (22kN major, 7kN minor, and 8kN gate open) so they can be used for more than hanging a hammock. Between the mini's, rope, and slings I use for my hammock I can make a pretty decent rap/rescue belay system. That being said the mini may be overkill for what some of you are using.
