I received my chair a couple weeks ago but wanted to break it in before giving it a review. For comparison im 6 '1' and 215 pounds. This chair feels amazing! Im so glad i went with this one instead of the Vertagear SL5000. Its a heavy chair thats for sure but it feels sturdy. Note that this chair will not recline all the way back to a complete horizontal state. But it gets about 2/3rds of the way there. The leather is durable and very high quality. Having hookups at office depot I've been using office chairs to game in for years but the leather on those chairs would flake away after alot of use. I had high expectations for paying $400 for a chair but so far its meeting all of them.
Mystery Pad? I received a red and black pad that came with the chair. I'm 99% sure its a mousepad because mine doesn't have breather holes and indentations. It seems like a typical extended gaming mousepad. Is it possible that DXRACER sent out multiple pads?
Overall I'm very happy after getting this chair. I also saved $50 by using Massdrop. For the people that are complaining about only saving $50 and having to wait 3+ weeks to get their chair - You need to understand that there is a tradeoff. Is a 10%+ discount worth the tradeoff of slower delivery? Ill let you decide, but nobody forced you to buy from this website. And I did alot of research and couldn't find the chair selling for anything less than $450 anywhere else. Since i didn't need the chair right there and then, I took the free $50 and im an extremely happy camper!

I'll echo the chair's firmness comments - I wasn't really expecting it to be this firm. For Christmas, I purchased my brother the DX Racer Drifting OH/DF51/NY chair and fell in love with it. Since the website didn't mention anything about a difference in the chair's padding, I assumed it would be similar.
Don't get me wrong, the chair looks the part and has an amazing set of features which I love. I'm just kinda bummed about how firm it is... I'm 5'8, 180lbs.

I got my chair today.
So far, it's pretty amazing. I'm 6'3" tall and around 310 and the only issue is that the back feels slightly snug for my width, but that's a personal problem and not an issue with the chair that I purchased.
I purchased the Grey chair, and it's a darker grey than is shown in the pictures. I have no issue with this though, and I doubt anyone else will.
I'm a little concerned about the difference between what the DX Racer site says the chair's max is, and what Massdrop says. Hopefully that'll be cleared out. Because of this, another concern I had was that it would not include the mentioned headrest and lumbar pillow, which was not shown in the pictures. But, they were both in the box as stated!
Re: the mystery pad - because of it's texture and smoothness, as well as the rubber on the back, I'm pretty sure it's a mousepad. It's a lot like my Steelseries QCK. Seems pretty nice. It'd probably also double nicely as a card mat if you're into that sort of thing. I hope everyone isn't still sitting on theirs. :)

KedynYou're kidding? A mousepad? It has ridges and indentations all over it, and a textured surface with breather holes. A mousepad should be flat and smooth.
Time to write another letter of inquiry to DxRacer I guess.

I just revived my chair today, I will make known that they added a seat pad to the chair in the box. I didn't see it advertised but it works just the same with or without it.

JerryConnHmm, is it a seat pad? Or is it a keyboard/laptop pad? Either way, it was a nice surprise to find in the box :)
I'm 6'0", 205-ish lbs, and this chair fits me wonderfully! The butt padding is perhaps a touch firmer than I'd prefer, but that's just my first impression.....I have no doubt I'll get used to it fairly quickly and then completely love it. And the firm padding is where I assume they get the higher weight rating of the chair.
The leg and abdomen side bolsters are perfectly shaped to fit my body, though if the armrests are both all the way in and all the way back, they contact the bolsters a bit. The openness of the shoulders accommodates my wider-than-normal shoulders perfectly.
This chair is solid and heavy, and anyone concerned about its' durability needn't be. As long as the vinyl (?) material is taken care of properly, I see this chair lasting me 10 years or longer. And I'll be looking into proper care for the material for sure :)

PahaniI was scratching my head on that pad as well, but I'm convinced its for the tush, considering it has anti-slip on one side. I couldn't find any documentation on it either.
Loving my chair. Feels a little firm, but that's just that out-of-the-box feel, I'm sure. Very nice build and friggin HEAVY! I carried it up in pieces before I assembled it.

Hey UrVAITguy is absolutely correct. I am not in any way saying that they displayed any incorrect information or in any way didn't represent the product correctly. I want to make sure and focus on where I wanted to place the feedback and that is my customer experience has taken a step towards not trusting the number they show no the screen. No matter how you "slice the pie" the savings compared to the manufacturer was less than I was pleased with when I purchased the drop.
Do i still want my chair? of course! am i trying to complain for no reason? no! I sincerely want Massdrop to consider this type of situation and hopefully have something to say on the matter. I think we call all agree saving anything is a good thing, but a poor customer experience is still good feedback if its reviewed and discussed.

DaddyWampusI applaud you for making your feedback known, and here's hoping Massdrop takes it seriously...
I say that with pause because I've mentioned to their staff several times (even included screenshots of email and a spec sheet link) that the weight limit for this chair is NOT 400 pounds, and they've yet to change it on the description. There' s another drop for an IB166 that also is incorrectly listed as 400 pounds weight and they haven't changed it there either.

We are in contact with the vendor and awaiting updated shipment estimates from them. We have a call scheduled first thing tomorrow morning and should get a bit more visibility in regards to when we can expect these to ship out. We will update the group as soon as these are on the way.
Thanks for your patience and expect an update from us on 3/23 or sooner if something comes up.

I appreciate your point about them needing to make a living. I don't appreciate feeling that I need to double check each % savings they put out there. When I see 18% off i trust that is the price I save based on purchasing directly from the vendor. In this case that isn't true, so now i have to investigate further and I lose some faith in the way they advertise. Does that clear up why I bring it up?

DaddyWampusWell is that incorrect? I'm not trying to split hairs here, but you DID save 18% off the price of the vendor. Shipping does not count as part of the price, strictly speaking. If the vendor happens to ship for free, that's a cost savings for you, but again shipping charges are considered different from the price of the item.
I guess the only advice I can give you is break out a calculator and do the math yourself. Massdrop isn't the only vendor who lists a % savings amount, but doesn't include the cost of shipping as part of that.

Looks like this time you won't have to wait very long eh? I suspect you received your tracking info for your chair? I received mine yesterday. My chair is due to arrive tomorrow, so I've waited a week and a half.
Gotta say, not bad. Other items from massdrop take a lot longer, but I suspect that's because those items have to be broken down from bulk by the massdrop staff and shipped individually. These chairs are coming direct from DxRacer.
