How can I get a balanced cable for these? I emailed E-mu/Chan and have still received no response over a week later.

PoorBoyDanielMsg him on here or again on the email. They can be a bit slow on the response, but will get it done if you are persistent. I just bought my balanced cable, but the price did increase to $79.00 :(

GambLdid the increase in price come alongside an increase in quality or features?

PoorBoyDanielI mean...a balanced cable is a balanced cable. There should be no distinguishable difference between 1 balanced cable to another. EMU teak has a 'unique' connection (2.5mm mono headphone to 4 pin XLR balanced) so you'll be hard pressed to find a 4pin XLR with the same connectors without it being custom made (unlikely to be cheaper). Is the price fair? Mostly... it used to be $50.00 which was a GREAT deal.

GambLThere are still differences between the quality of the cable, i.e. more flexible, braided, more durable connectors, etc... I just would like to know if there was a reason for the spike in price (60%), or if it was strictly to increase profits, along with the $50 spike in the price of the headphones themselves. I understand $80 is still a good deal, but not nearly as good a deal as before. I spent $240 on the Sennheiser CH650S I use with my HD 600's. But E-Mu is not exactly a big name in the industry, and to get there you need to stand out, and value for money is one of the best ways to do that. I could buy a 5 ft cable wrapped in paracord with the same connectors from Ursine.audio for $64-$105 depending on the model and options. At the end of the day, $30 is not chump change especially when considering it constitutes a 60% increase in price.

PoorBoyDanielI agree with you 100%. I'll update you when I receive in the mail. I doubt more than a dozen or two people even own the balanced EMU cable(based on historical comments on this thread) be it original or new price. The only thing I can say is these headphones have an incredible reputation. I think I've read every post about them on the English internet... so we'll see.

GambLI took my first good listen to them today and my God, the bass is absolutely unreal. I've never experienced such luscious and punchy bass in any pair of headphones, especially closed back. Z and Tyll were spot on.
