EMU is sadly a moribund brand. This is just Creative Labs (Soundblaster) not sure what justifies the high price. It's not a premier hifi brand like Grado, Sennheiser, AKG or Beyer.

CalaverasgrandeI think the Teak wood is harder to make/process also it's still made from Fostex so it's more or less in the same price range. Except I guess Fostex charge $20 for removable cable and E-Mu charge $50 for it.

CalaverasgrandeIt's a rebrand, retuned Fostex 600. Not as V shaped as the 6xx, and you buy the other wood cups for a different flavor.

CalaverasgrandeI mean Omega is just a Swatch brand, what makes them worth more than a $5 swatch watch? Ultimate Ears is a Logitech brand, but makes some of the best custom IEM's on the market. I could go on and on, but the parent company has little to do with the quality of those other products. This is a Foster 448498 derivative, just like the Denon AH-D7200 and 5200, as well as the Fostex TH-610, and Massdrop TR-X00.

KethYeah I’ve read from people that own the fostex and prefer these. I have a pair and love them. Except the jacks for the cords are a little sketchy. I like fostex’ connectors more from the look of it. They seem more secure.
