PaulyThe E-MU Wood Series team is made up of many wood enthusiasts that have the drive and passion to achieve both aesthetic and acoustic standards. The current ear cup design for Teak was a high challenging one, due to the high yield loss and difficulty in fabrication. Thus, we do not have any intention to mass produce these ear cups at huge volumes, but instead try out other kinds of woods in the hope of finding superior woods that offer better sound.
The offer price of the Ebony or Rosewood ear cups at US$79 to EMU Teak customer is a very reasonable price, as they include shipment cost worldwide. Thus, a lot of calculations and decisions had to be made to ensure that the price is reasonable for everyone.

chan_emuThats an excellent price. The rosewood cups caught my eye at first, but after learning about the exclusivity of the teak, and then also seeing the difference in shape and design looking at the two cups side by side, I think I may go for the teak now with an additional set of rosewood. I'm fascinated too by tonewoods and their sonic qualities, but unfortunately in this case ebony will have to wait!!
