How much sound leakage do they have? I work on an open floor space so minimal leakage is ideal.

jdok89Just from the design and observance it looks like little to none would leak out. But I don't know, that's just my guess.

jdok89I own a Denon D2000 (very similar headphone also built by Fostex), and if you look closely there is a tiny seam (gap) between the wood cup and the metal part that holds the headphone.
That gap is actually bass vent so this is actually a semi-open headphone. So sound leakage do happen but not too bad. I use my at work and no one complained so far. If your office has ambient sound (people typing, AC sound... etc) then no one will notice.

jdok89It does indeed leak, but if you don't play it too loud, it shouldn't be noticeable
Don't know this specific one but I have tried a TH-900 which is quite similar (also by Fostex)

jdok89How would this compare to TH-X00 leakage as I heard it is quite noticeable.
Simply difficult to gauge if it is too loud without having a listen.
Does anyone have recommendations to listen to a pair of these around SF?

jdok89Oh yes I guess I forgot to mention, D2000 had dampen material inside the cup, which also reduce the sound a little bit. I think E-MU Teak doesn't have any dampen material. So it might be slightly louder.
But for the most part semi-open headphones generally leak a bit but not too bad. For the record my office is also open space. And I tend to crank my music very loud too lol.
I guess you have to ask yourself how much office noise is there and how far are you sitting from the next person. :P
