Well, take this review as you would but...
I have used the predecessor to this IEM the Earsonics SM3 V2 for close to 3 years now. You will notice a significant bump in sound quality especially if you're coming from something lower end. Earsonics' sound signature definitely isn't light on bass, has great mids and highs, and damn good clarity.
If you're worried about the cable, don't be. It looks to be similar to the one on the SM3, which after three years now is still going strong.
This was pretty much all I needed until the casing split in half one day. Managed to glue it back together but I think the cables inside began to oxidize after this point. So the right channel's volume would eventually began to fade out. Lead to me grabbing a Harmony 8 pro as my end game for IEMs.
Long story short, this IEM will serve you well. Pretty much as good as it got for me.

AyEnKayYour SM3 V2 shell split in half? I had two SM3 V1s back in the day and both had one of the casings split into two. I was reading how the SM3 V2 fixed the casing split issue, so I was considering getting another, but decided to jump on the SM64 since it came out around the same time. I used plastic weld to mold one of the SM3 casings together, which seems to hold just fine. With both the SM3 and SM64, I've noticed one monitor would drop off occasionally, which I think was due to pressure changes or extreme cold. They would return to normal after a day or so. This has only happened once with the SM64 for me while I was outside in subzero temperatures for an extended period. With the SM3s, it usually occurred mid-flight on an airplane. I've considered going all out on custom iems, maybe after the SM64s die.

ImmaBananaInteresting.. That seems to be the exact issue. The case on my right IEM did split in half. Sometime after which I started to notice the sound gradually drop until it was at 0 on some days. This was mainly in winter time and on planes as well. More recently, however, this issue hasn't come up in the last few months. Especially after it has started to get warmer.
I still use the SM3v2 for going to the gym, so its still going strong.
