Can't comment on the other items, but I've owned a CRKT Pazoda for close to ten years now, and it's been an absolutely awesome little EDC. The blade feels very sturdy when deployed, and flicks out incredibly quickly with a satisfying click. Very slim too, fits very comfortably in the small, otherwise useless pocket in the right front pocket of jeans. The coating is still in quite good condition, with some very mild fading from many years of use.
This kit is a really nice idea, although the vendor shipping ($21.25) puts me off.
It would be great to see other kits sold like this, through Massdrop (with Massdrop's cheap international shipping!) Maybe with some higher-quality items included and perhaps a way to get round MAP pricing on the 'star' of the kit. The other items might be a pleasant surprise, or you could trade/sell/gift them.
It would also be great to see different peoples' ideas for kits/collections in the Polls section: Maybe "Massdrop Collections" could be a whole new community.
Got mine today, attaches well to my Red Rock sling pack, too. Not sure if I'll leave it there or just throw it in the car. The bag is great, the knife is fine (though it is smaller than I thought it'd be, which is nice, as I've got plenty of longer knives, I may actually just leave it in my bag), the pen is great and will replace the one I'm carrying around now, and I really like the flashlight. I'm sure I'll dump about half the contents of the first aid kit and just make my own, though. This was a nice little package, hope Massdrop does more like it!
Thanks everyone, we put this together as a way for anyone new in EDC to get started, and also as a backup kit to throw in a bag or car as redundancy. Personally, I have plenty of knives and lights and pens that I like carry daily, but I plan on stashing one of these in the car for emergencies.
