Do i really need the optical input? I just play games and watch movies, youtube, on my PC. Will I hear a difference I go for the HD upgrade? Never used an optical cable before

Scar0134The sound will not change in a noticeable way, it just offers you a digital input which can be useful from a console or TV. Unless you have some sort of dedicated sound card you'll just need the standard version for the AUX or RCA i/o

Scar0134As a general rule, using an optical (cable) connection will sound better, as the signal to the speakers will bypass the DAC of the computer/TV. If these speakers interest you, choose the HD version... and an optical digital cable if the speakers don't include one.
