Champion_HDWhen you hear an audio signal from a digital source (CD, computer, PS4, etc) a chip in the machine has to convert the digital signal to an analog audio signal. If the chip in the speaker is "better" at that conversion process, it may sound "better". Further, running long analog audio cables (like RCA, whereas XLR is a different beast) can pick up noise, where running long digital cables doesn't really have that problem. Those are the two largest benefits to having a digital input on the speaker itself
