These speakers LOOK cool but I bet there's a reason they're NOT in the audiophile section.

gameaholicAre most 2.1 $75 setups regarded as audiophile tho?

Anyone have an opinion on this system compared to the klipsch promedia 2.1? Difference in price is negligible but the low wattage scares me.

Bsanders31I dont know about these but I know about Luna Eclipse and they are loud. I have also heard about promedia at bestbuy but it just felt the same.

Forget the speaker system, what's the desk in the 2nd / 9th picture?

I just bought a $99 Edifier "Bookshelf" speaker set on Amazon for my roommate's birthday. Those things are amazing! They are 45 watts RMS each, which basically means you'll see 180 Watts on the packaging (or you would with regular speakers). They sound great and have good bass even without a sub. I actually like the way they sound compared to more expensive 2.1 setups, but if you want louder volume as well I would spring for the 65 watt or higher model, starting at $150.
That said, THESE speakers are 12 watts RMS each, plus a 40 watt sub. That seems a little underpowered to me. Plus, the design, while unique, looks...kind of weird. I don't think I'd like them, I saw these on Best Buy a while ago and decided I'd rather go with the Harmon Kardon sound sticks 2.1 speakers if I wanted to go that route.
TL/DR: Edifier is a good brand, but this product you're basically paying for a Bluetooth adapter and a tiny sub with weak left and right speakers. Other users are saying these are total crap...I haven't heard them personally but from the specs you can do a lot better for similar $$$.

I'm trying to figure out who would actually buy this garbage....

Why? Because you don't always need a sub, sometimes it'll hinder a setup, some speakers sound terrible without full frequency given to them, some need some of it to be taken away.
In a small space, that's just too much noise anyways.

GodinOk, what else do I need? I also have 2 - 12" Cerwin Vega VS-120 speaker boxes. I would like to be able to switch to them, and I am looking at budget build only. Hook me up dude. I got other guys recommendations, I like more opinions.

The Edifier stuff seems to be one of those love it or hate it things. Their specs are nice but I haven't seen anything of theirs I find even remotely interesting
