RipsnortI have the old-school Z5500 as well. I want this set so badly but I can't justify the cost when my Z500 works so well still (after 11 1/2 YEARS!).

TLemelinI am a happy owner of the Logitech Z5500 as well. I has worked faithfully for me for near a decade. A few months ago I replaced the broken center channel with a Micca MB42C. And just recently all four remaining speakers with Micca MB42's. Anyway the small red/black clips on back of sub broke on POS (red) side in 3 places as seen below.

So I have been looking at a Z5500 sub replacement, or new speaker set. I wish I could buy just the Sub, control pod and remote but am very interested in this drop.

MunchiesTheSockmonkeyOh wow I posted this years ago but I fixed that speaker connection panel. I found the exact one on eBay and bought a soldering station with hot air a chineeseum brand that worked well. I wicked out old solder and soldered in the pins using Amtech Flux. I heated the pins with iron and the solder flowed smooth like a criminal. Better than factory. I pumpin jams on this monster everyday! Best PC speaker system ever!
