It sounds like there's some issues with the HDMI audio and wifi drivers in both cases though. Not fully functional straight out of the gate, but I doubt it's any more difficult to fix than on any other initial install.

I still don't think I'm completely sold on buying one but it could definitely help clear up some cable mess around my TV if I could tape this little guy to the back of it instead of routing them from a box.
Gee whiz gang, the thing is just over a $100 and in an extremely small form factor. Enough ports to hook up all your old periph's you got hanging around the house. Internal wifi.....
My daughter, 13, does email, low intensive games, music video apps, and watches TV / youtube all on her iphone. She wants to learn how to type, and get some windows experience. She can handle a 22 inch screen in her room, wireless keyboard with some mouse function on it, and thats it Any thing else in her room will be "ugly." This is perfect. She wont even see the dang PC.
Its about hefficiency (heat, or power which equates to small form factor), price, and plenty of IO's. I mean, look how dang small that thing is, for all it can do. The ATOM is hell'of'an efficient architecture.

I think Intel has the horsepower thing already figured out. Who knows why they call it an I5, but would anyone with a half a brain think they could get a I5 with its chipset, all other necessary chips, and WIFI running cold enough to fit in that small box, not to mention at a $100 including a windows license.

Put simply, you can't. As I think you know this is NOT an i5 processor, it's an Atom. To give folks here an idea (and to avoid them being deceived) the performance of this Atom vs. an i5 (keep in mind there are several i5 processors) is about 20% of an i5 5200 (which is on the low end of i5s.) 20% of...or 1/5th. That is super slow. Not to mention only having 2GB of RAM.

For the price and form factor... it's probably an OK buy but as a functional PC to do anything other than take simple notes I would not recommend it.

Don't think the Atom chip on this can support more than 2GB of RAM, so even if they did add more, it would be unusable.
will this thing stream 1080p netflix via chrome/firefox/opera?

I should be able to do Netflix. Just don't run any other apps.... that said you would be MUCH better off buying something like an Amazon Fire TV or TV Stick, Roku or Apple TV if you are buying for media consumption. You won't be able to easily use a remote with this and you'll have to go through hoops to get a good media player/center experience. That might be worth it if you had a reasonably powerful and expandable HTPC but this thing is too limited and will not give a good experience.
Am I just crazy or does this little thing look exactly like the Ockel Sirius B computers?
Is there any possibility to update BIOS of Egreat i5? And now inserted SD card into slot, but it can't find, should I re-install the driver or not, kindly provide if any or advice what can I do, thanks.
