Recognizing the low resolution, anyone using this with their kids? I don’t need to see individual bacteria but if I can show my kids fine details in plants, insects, household items etc that will be worth the low price.
Hey I just received my microscope but I'm having difficulty installing it. Can someone please assist me? I'm running Windows 7 and when I open Amcap, I think I'm supposed to see Devices>GENERAL-UVC but all I see is integrated camera (which is my webcam). Umm kinda stumped here so any help would be appreciated!
Couple of points:
-As noted, Resolution is probably more important than Magnification (there's Big, and there's Big you can actually see.
-The device needs a way to connect directly to a computer (wirelessly or otherwise) to be truly useful.
I think the more serious/useful version for those who need a scope to solder SMTs (which is presumably why many of us in the DIY community care) is going to either be a binocular or trinocular (allows a camera) on a boom, such as an AmScope. Soldering via a camera adds too much latency, but it is useful for inspection after the fact. Sure it's $400+ but you'll be set for the rest of your life...
Got mine, and it's kinda nice for the price point. Works with Windows 10 built in camera app and has a built in battery as well.
All in all, not bad at all.
