The Fireant is fantastic! Perfect for my needs on trail, which is boiling water for dehydrated meals, coffee, and the bonus of having a small, contained, cheery fire that requires only a couple handfuls of twigs. The ability to pop in the small tray for an esbit tab, or alcohol gel is a nice back up if you are sitting under your tarp riding out a rainstorm and want a warm drink or a meal, but don't feel like gathering wood. It's light, sturdy, compact, and just a nice piece of kit. 5 stars!

Works great. Packs down very small and is very light. Easy to assemble once you get the hang of it: once you have the three walls assembled, connect the last piece, twist the corners and you can easily slide the notches in together. I really like that it has a bottom so it won't burn whatever surface you have it on, and the titanium version cools down in less than 3 minutes after use. As with any woodburning stove soot gather very easily but I find that after wiping it off with some moss and putting it in the protective leather sleeve keeps it from gunking up the rest of your gear when its in the pack.

I have been looking for something like this since 1998 when we were on a canoeing trip in Canada. Small, pack-able and sturdy. It will be a gift to my son, who still hikes and camps. I did fail to read the dimensions and it is smaller than I thought, but it is correctly described.

JRCOWhat are you connecting it to...a power outlet? That would be awkward for sure. I don't connect mine to anything by the way.
