CEntranceI have owned both products...sold off the DACport Slim and kept the Little Ego. And yeah, that's pretty tacky to come in here and poop all over this product.
CEntranceNow THAT was a classy way to respond. 'Just when I thought you couldn't be any dumber..you go and do something like this..and totally redeem yourself!' Ha sorry, couldn't resist. But in all seriousness, thanks for handling community feedback so appropriately. It's certainly not an easy position to be in but that's a nice professional response 👍👍
ChumbWumbaWe all live and learn. The community is what keeps us going, so when it speaks, we listen and correct. Customer feedback helps us design and build great stuff, so we (try to) remain humble and grateful :)
CEntrance"CEntrance has better specs"
do you even know your own product's specs because it doesn't.
I also read your comments to potential customers on your own page.
You recommend your dac telling a guy it's better than what he's heard, but you don't know his setup so it's just a guess.
You just say your amp has no noisefloor but it does, and then blame it on people lowering their pc volume (they don't).
I am all for good products, but not shady marketing techniques.
UzuzuHey, thanks for speaking up! And nice picture! I get how you feel. I also replied to your comments in the DACport Slim thread. That guy said thanks for the explanation, so apparently it was useful to him. Not everyone is a pro :)
CEntranceHe said "Oh I see." In response to the question why were other people complaining about noisefloor...
certainly your explanation is useful to those that don't know maxing out an amp on a weak signal will result in noise from the amplifier... something you don't need to be a pro to know ;-)
It's also a useful explanation at dodging any potential noise your units might be audibly making as evidenced by user comments. Let's ignore those though I'm sure they're listening to their PCs cranked up to a whopping 10 percent and maxing our your amp ;-)
not even trying to hate on your amp as it's noise isn't even an issue, but come on man
UzuzuDon't feed the troll. CEntrance is trying to get any attention he can to increase the visibility of his own, competing, product. If you want him to go away, don't let his comments gain traction outside his own drop. This is an Emotiva drop, let's discuss that product instead.
UzuzuI'm not a troll and neither are you. And I respect your opinion, as obviously you know what you are talking about. But the guy is right. Let's move this discussion to the Slim thread, where it rightfully belongs ;)
CEntranceBought the DACport Slim and the only reason I’m interested in this is because of my disappointment in the CEntrance DACport Sim. Won’t work with iPhone or iPad and not near enough power as a desktop when connected to the computer. Unsavory products and a rather trite response from those producing mentioned product. keep it classy, San Diego. Expert tip: Don’t talk shit whenyour shit sucks. Word to the wise
Lostdog54Understand you may be disappointed with your experience. Please note that DACport Slim is not advertised as compatible with iPhone / iPad products as they do not provide sufficient power. We do offer comprehensive support if you still have any questions. Info at CEntrance dot com.
CEntranceDid not state on MD page at the time purchase was made. Later did read about it in the discussion. Too late. Bought two. I wish I had done a little reasearch instead of brand recognition. As they sit in a drawer collecting dust. Certainly my mistake for not doing sufficient due diligenc before making the purchase. Live and learn. Thanks for the reply.
