Made of palo santo, a wood often used for incense and spiritual healing, these ear cups give your headphones a uniquely beautiful look. The wood is sourced from Latin America, then transformed by E-MU Director Chan Ming Tat using a combination of handcrafting and CNC machining. For purists, the native raw finish has no coating and retains the tree’s mild fragrance, reminiscent of pine, mint, or lemon. This wood will change color over time, from a yellower to a greener hue. The classic gloss finish uses a small amount of lacquer to enhance palo santo’s natural beauty. Finally, the E-MU matte finish features an exclusive coating made from the sap of a tree native to China. The intensive process involves seven layers applied over seven days.
