I received my pen yesterday, and I have had the same experience as j-e-g. Nib sucks! it barely writes, skips on the rare occasion it does start, and is just a beautiful disaster. Not sure how to go about requesting a new nib, I am a bit of noob w fountain pens.

namirkI have found no problems with my nib - mine's a medium and is similar to many others. Perhaps wet the nib briefly under running water to get it started, and if that's not smooth enough a mild detergent will make the ink wetter (I occasionally use photo-flo for my F nib pens). Good luck getting a replacement - this appears to be a bock nib and you may as well see if you can find a replacement from them as well as from enesso.

liebeanThanks 🙂. Will be sending it to Ensso for a polished nib.
Very pleased with their willingness to irk with me to exchange the nib.
Ensso has a sale right now on their pens. Really good prices. I might not wait for a drop to get the raw aluminum version.... polished nib of course 🙂

j-e-gEnsso replied to me suggesting to run the nib under water, let it air dry, and then use bottled ink with the converter it came with. Same suggestion as @libean (thanks BTW). I'll give that a try and update the community

j-e-gJust got back from out of town. I had left the black ink cartridge in for the week and gave it one last shot before attempting to flush as I was recommended to do. It actually writes pretty well now. Maybe I needed to give the ink cartridge more time to prime the nib. I'm sure if I had used the converter and sucked some ink through the feed this would have gone faster.

namirkI thought I wrote an update but I guess I didn't. I contacted Ensso and they suggested that I flu sh the nib with water for a few minutes and let it dry. With repeated use the nib has actually started to perform better. I guess this is more of a problem with the black coated nibs as the coating may interfere with ink flow until you rub it away with repeated use. Pretty happy with it now using Pilot Iroshizuku ink.
