MINDBLOWN by the quality of these cutting boards!! These are so much different to work with - in a good way! a quick wipe gets rid of all leftovers, fats and excess liquids. cleaning is a breeze! nothing stains it, not even raw meat. cross-contamination worry-free! Although end-grain wooden boards have a better 'feel' to them when prepping, are softer on the knife edge and generally look more appealing - I found it much easier to work with these boards for professional use, compared to wooden board or synthetic. Super recommended! Picked up a couple of these and took them to a high-profile charity fundraiser event. other chefs were equally impressed with my food and cutting board :) asking where i got it from, they were thrilled to hear it is locally made in the US (originally in Minnesota, now out of a factory in Wisconsin, after being acquired by Victorinox) I was making burgers and hastily snagged a few pics before serving the final order, so you can see just how a brand new cutting board looks like after heavy use and abuse. Tried to get good angles so you can see just how superficial the cuts on the surface are. this board will easily last me 10 years of service! I put in about 8h of work on this baby, everything from trimming bones/raw meat prior to grinding it (think meat cleavers and heavy western chef knives), prepping vegetables and burger toppings such as fried onion rings, pineapples and Habanero peppers (my fav trio. yum!) and all of these were made-to-order, meaning I had to clean the cutting board for each serving! For non professionals, this pretty much equals half a year of daily abuse in the kitchen with non-professional cutlery!

I live less than a mile from the factory (Superior, WI) and I own and use their cutting boards. First they are really durable and stain resistant. Someone on here mentioned "chipping", I have not seen or had this but they are very hard and I would not drop or hammer on the edges. You can use the dishwasher but why? How difficult is it to use the sink (it takes 5 seconds). I would think that the high heat of the dry cycle would be hard on any composite material. Last but not least they are hard so they will dull your knife quicker than wood, not a big deal as you should be occasionally sharpening your knifes anyway.

The Pictured cutting board is the "27″ × 18″ Chef Series".

Sorry MD, this is a pricing fail. Prices are within a couple bucks of Amazon. We should really be able to do better than a savings of under $3 when you have to wait an extra couple weeks to receive it.

Is this only for one board, or is it a 3 piece set?
spm3This drop is for a single board. You can choose from size and color at checkout. You will also have the option to add additional boards should you want more than one.

Does it really withstand the dishwasher (even with heated dry). That's precisely what I'm looking for. Hard to believe when on Amazon, a reviewer showcased how it starts chipping off at places after seemingly standard use after two weeks.

Typhoon859A late reply to a question from an earlier drop, no doubt, but since no one answered before: yes, they really handle the dishwasher just fine. I've had an Epicurean board for around ten years; bought it to be my meat board, so I wanted one that was non-porous and could be sterilized in the hot dishwasher cycle. It's color faded and it definitely doesn't have the natural look that it once did, but structurally it's as sound as the day I bought it. I've abused the thing too: back in the day, likely as not I'd slice raw meat on it, cook up dinner, get wasted and/or distracted by whomever I was trying to impress by cooking dinner, and after stumbling home from work on Monday afternoon hungover like an mf, I'd finally get around to cleaning the board that had been sitting by the grill in the backyard just as I'd I'd left it 72 hrs earlier. Meat juice after three days and nights exposed to high desert summer weather doesn't even go rancid, it just dries and hardens like a varnish. But a short soak and a scrub with a brillo to get the worst of it off, then a cycle in the dishwasher and it was ready for whenever I was able to keep food down again. Someone on Amazon saying they had an Epicurean board that chipped (and not long after purchase) makes me think that they did something stupid with it, like using it for a baking sheet in the oven; or it had sat around in very sub-optimal warehouse conditions for far too long before it was purchased and shipped, which compromised it; or it was a knock off. $50 cutting boards from a small Midwestern company are exactly the type of product some less than scrupulous Far Eastern factory and distribution company might select as a product to pirate, since they can probably make a visually passable facsimile for pennies.

HatuletohThat Amazon review is part of what turned me off from it. So for the record, it's this exact board you have? I had my sights on it but was uncertain due to this exact question. I appreciate the response and might give it a shot if this is the one you have. Thanks man!

It appears to be per board, although you can order more than once at once if you'd like.
